What did you do this past week?

This past week, my team and I wrapped phase 3 of the IDB project on Monday, we were glad we did not have to use the extra day and could sort of just chill out after we got it done Monday evening. I also wrapped up work on projects in other classes so I’m excited about this coming break and having a chance to take it easy before finishing out the semester

What’s in your way?

Nothing much is in my way, this last phase seems to not be too bad compared to the others and I’m looking forward to winter break!

What will you do next week?

Next week I’ll be studying up for finals and the last of my exams in other classes while also getting some friends together to have a little friendsgiving and maybe going out of town to celebrate Thanksgiving with some family in fort worth.

If you read it, what did you think of the Paper #13: Why Extends Is Evil?

I thought this paper followed nicely with the last one we read and I learned a few things about Java as well which is nice as I haven’t used Java in a long while.

What was your experience of SQL? (this question will vary, week to week)

My first experience with SQL before we started talking about it in class was through working with our database for our IDB project. I figured out a few things along the way doing that but it was nice to go through what was actually happening in class, it helped me to understand SQL a lot better.

What made you happy this week?

This week Arcane finished airing for its first season and it was honestly an amazing show. I never thought I would care about a League of Legends property, but the studio behind this show did an amazing job. The animation is always active and there is just so much detail crammed into everything from the backgrounds to the faces. Can’t recommend it enough if you’re a fan of animation and a good story.

What’s your pick-of-the-week or tip-of-the-week?

My tip of the week is to checkout Godot, it’s a free open-source game engine that I’ve been following for a while and it’s been really interesting to see it take shape, definitely look into it if you're passionate about open source development or video games.
